Repo groups now automatically contain all the selected repos when they are created. The new repo group node should be expanded when it is created. Otherwise this can lead to confusing situations:

I just selected all repos in repo view and created a group. The visual effect was all repos vanishing and instead the input of the repo group name appearing. For a short moment I was wondering if my repos got lost somehow.
